SMS regulations vary by country and can affect whether your messages are delivered. Rules typically cover:

  • Time of day -- when messages may be sent
  • Content restrictions -- what you can include in a message
  • Sender ID format -- the "from" address displayed to the recipient. Carriers in some countries block messages from unrecognized phone number formats. To help ensure delivery, the sender ID may be automatically replaced with a format accepted by the local carrier.
